CAIRO, SEPT 8 (SEE)- Minister of Awqaf Mohammed Mukhtar Jummah and the Minister of Community Development and Religious Affairs of Kazakhstan inspected on Saturday the restoration work of al-Zahir Baibars mosque.
The two sides agreed to arrange another meeting on Sunday to draw up a plan to complete the restoration work of the mosque.
Jummah said that the Ministry strongly supports cooperation with the Kazakh side along with the Ministry of Antiquities to complete a restoration process appropriate to the history and status of the mosque.
Baibars was the fourth Sultan of Egypt during the Mamluk dynasty. He is famous for capturing King Louis IX of the Seventh Crusade and defeating the Mongol empire in the battle of Ain Jalut.
