The award-winning Egyptian film "Rat Hole" will have its first commercial screening at Zawya Cinema on Wednesday, May 15.
The film will be screened at 07:00 PM, followed by a panel discussion with the director and the film's leading actress Rana Khattab.
"The Rat Hole" will also be playing in the UAE, starting Tuesday, May 21, at Cinema Akil in Dubai for 10 days.
The film, which also stars Mohamed Yurka and Hanan Helmy, is written, directed, and produced by Mohamed Samman.
"The Rat Hole" is centered around Kholoud, a young woman who is forced to go against her principles to obtain EGP 7,000, which the fate and stability of her entire family depend on.
The film had its world premiere at the Aswan International Women's Film Festival, and its international premiere at the Amman International Film Festival, where Khattab received a special mention.
The actress recently received her second award at the BRICS Film Festival in Russia, which is part of the Moscow International Film Festival, where she won the Best Actress Award.
