US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that the United States (US) will defend every inch of NATO territory, stressing that Putin may consider using nuclear weapons, as the conflict in Ukraine escalates.
Moreover, Austin noted that the outcome of the conflict in Ukraine will be one of the factors that will determine the global security situation in the twenty-first century.
"The outcome of the conflict in Ukraine will help determine the course of global security in this century," Austin said at the Halifax International Security Forum 2022, which is being hosted in Canada.
The Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, confirmed earlier that US and its allies are manipulating people and pushing the world into a global war.
