The Pakistani police announced today, Saturday, that 13 people were killed and more than 20 were injured in a road accident on a highway in the east of the country.
The district police officer said in a statement to the Pakistani newspaper Dawn - that the accident occurred when a jeep collided with two other vehicles on the highway near Rahim Yar Khan.
He added that at least 13 people died while 14 of the injured were in critical condition and were being treated at Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan.
The official said that the police opened an investigation in order to find out the causes and circumstances of this incident, but he did not go into more details in this regard.
