At least 10 people were killed and 11 others were missing in a massive fire at a motel in the New Zealand capital, Wellington, on Tuesday.

The British Daily Mail reported, on Tuesday morning, that at least 10 people had been killed in a huge fire that broke out in a hostel in the center of the capital, Wellington, amid news of a possible increase in the death toll.

The newspaper stated on its website that dozens were evacuated from the building, especially since it is likely to fall as a result of the fire.

It indicated that the fire broke out in a four-story inn and that the number of deaths recorded in the fire reached 10, and 11 people are still missing, with dozens of others evacuated.

It is suspected that the fire was deliberately started at the hostel, located in the central suburb of Newtown, which is a four-story motel with about 92 rooms.

New Zealand Prime Minister, Chris Hipkins, has confirmed to the TV channel "Newshop" that the death toll is increasing, as it is believed that more than 90 people were in the building when the fire started.
