AstraZeneca issues conflict between EU members

The European Union members are still arguing over the safety of AstraZeneca vaccine, in addition, the conflict between the European countries is getting tougher hours before the reports of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), Daily Mail reported on Wednesday.

Various European countries has halted the usage of AstraZeneca vaccine after receiving reports of the presence of blood clots in the adults who received the vaccine.

Stella Kyriakides, a member of the European Commission, urged European leaders to keep using the vaccine to save their people’s lives, in addition, she asserted: “Every dose counts.”

The Polish government has followed the same direction and continued using AstraZeneca jabs, furthermore, it accused leaders who appose the rollout of “giving in to panic.”

On the other hand, Germany, France, Italy and Spain joined the majority of EU members which suspended using the vaccine, regardless of slowing down the vaccination rollouts.

Also, Germany has postponed its virtual Vaccination Summit to after the results of the meeting of EMA which will be held on Thursday. The meeting will review the safety of the vaccine and its relation with blood clotting.
