The death toll between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces over the separatist territory of Nagorno-Karabakh reached about 600, with officials reporting more military and civilian deaths as the fighting continues despite a cease-fire that was announced over the weekend, according to AP.

Nagorno-Karabakh military officials said that 16 more of their soldiers got killed in the fighting, bringing the total number of dead among military members to 532 since Sept. 27, when the fighting started.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the truce should be strictly enforced, while the European Union expressed its concerns over the military operations targeting civilians until now.

It was reported that the exchange of attack between Armenia and Azerbaijan was continued, only hours after the truce took effect.

Azerbaijan did not disclose its military losses, and the overall toll is likely to be much higher with both sides.

Also, both sides are claiming that they inflicted significant military casualties on one another.
