Armenian and Azerbaijani forces accused each other of attacks on their territory Tuesday, as fighting over the separatist region of Nagorno-Karabakh continued for a third straight day following the reigniting of a decades-old conflict. On Monday, the administration of  Karabakh Republic announced that 51 more Armenian soldiers were killed due to the ongoing battles with the Azerbaijani army in the region.

The administration said that  the latest figure brings the total death toll in the region to 480 since the outbreak of the fighting on September 27.

Yerevan previously announced that the Azerbaijani forces suffered much greater casualties in the conflict, saying that the number of Azerbaijani casualties exceeded 4000 people.

Baku repeatedly stressed that these allegations are far from the truth, describing such statements as Armenian propaganda.

On the other side, Azerbaijan did not announce the number of deaths among its forces. It said that the war resulted in the death of 41 civilians and the injury of more than 200 others.

On October 10, the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia reached an agreement to stop the war for humanitarian purposes, but later, the two sides exchanged accusations of violating it.
