On Monday, the Arab Parliament praised the invitation of a number of ambassadors accredited in the Kingdom of Bahrain to visit the Correction and Rehabilitation Center to review the human rights situation

Adel Bin AbdulRahman AlAsoomi, President of the Arab Parliament, praised the distinguished initiative taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain by inviting a number of ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom headed by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps. It also invited the United Nations Resident coordinator.

Bahrain to visit the Jaw Correction and Rehabilitation Centre in the Kingdom, which is the first of its kind, in order to learn about the human rights situation and the medical care provided to inmates.

This came in light of the precautionary measures taken by the management of the center as part of the national efforts and preventive measures to limit the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Bahrain, in addition to the recent allegations regarding correction and rehabilitation centers.

In a statement, the president of the Arab Parliament affirmed that Bahrain's invitation to such a visit confirms the values of the Kingdom and its original culture of respecting human rights. He added that this is a result of the reform approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the country's monarch.

The statement pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain is committed to the highest international human rights standards and its application on the ground, as the visit to the Rehabilitation Center is a true evidence of this commitment that the Kingdom is keen to implement in all areas on its territory.
