The 31st edition of the Arab Music Festival kicked off a few hours ago in the presence of Nevin Al-Kilany, Minister of Culture and Magdy Saber, Head of the Cairo Opera House, at the Fountain Theater at Cairo Opera House.
During the ceremony, the Minister of Culture and the head of the Opera honored16 musical personalities who contributed to enriching artistic life in Egypt and the Arab world.
One of the shining figures of the concert was the veteran Safaa Abu El Soud and her honouring where she did a short stage performance.
The festival was with for the centenary of the musician Ali Ismail, with the participation of singers Khaled Selim, Walid Haider, Amira Ahmed, Mohamed Hassan, Ahmed Effat, Ghada Adam, Hanan Essam, Noha Hafez, with the participation of the Cairo Opera Ballet, the renowned choreography of Armenia Kamel, and conducting the orchestra Ahmed Effat.
It is worth to mention the events will be hosted at different venues such as the Institute of Arab Music which will welcome the concerts of Ahmed Mohsen, Angham Mustafa, Muhammad Shawqi, Ahmed Al-Waziri, and Waad Al-Bahri.
Sayed Dar Darwish Theater at Alexandria Opera House, Damanhour Opera Opera House will host several events of the festival.
