Arab League Official Highlights Growing Arab-China Media Cooperation

Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League, underscored the vital role of audiovisual technologies in deepening cooperation between the Arab world and the People’s Republic of China.

Speaking at the opening session of the 7th Arab-China Radio and Television Cooperation Forum, Khattabi emphasized the importance of engaging with China’s advanced experience in digital and professional media training, noting that audiovisual networks play a key role in promoting peace, dialogue, and mutual understanding while respecting national sovereignty.

He called for stronger exchanges in communication technologies, innovation, artificial intelligence, and cyber networks to help shape a balanced global media system that supports development in the Global South.

Khattabi also urged the effective implementation of the 2023 Memorandum of Understanding between the Arab League and China’s National Radio and Television Administration, which aims to enhance media coverage, joint productions, and professional training.
