Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, was honored Sunday by the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions for his efforts in promoting human rights and justice across the region.
During a ceremony at the General Secretariat headquarters, Sultan bin Hassan Al-Jamali, the Network's Secretary-General, and Ambassador Mahmoud Karem of Egypt's National Council for Human Rights, presented Aboul Gheit with a commemorative shield.
Spokesperson Gamal Roshdy stated the award recognizes Aboul Gheit’s role in strengthening Arab cooperation and his consistent support for the Palestinian cause in international forums.
Aboul Gheit expressed his appreciation, describing human rights as a "fundamental pillar of stability and development." He reaffirmed the League's commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance political, economic, and social rights throughout the Arab world.
