AOI, IKEN Sign Cooperation Protocol to Enhance Digital Transformation

The Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) and IKEN signed on Sunday a cooperation protocol to boost the implementation of digital transformation projects.

The agreement was inked by Abdel Rahman Abdel Azim, the director general of AOI and engineer Hossam Reda el Gamal, the managing director of IKEN, in the presence of Minister of Public Business Sector Hisham Tawfik, and Minister of Communications Amr Talaat.

The agreement aims to enhance benefits of digitalization, artificial intelligence and internet.

Talaat stressed the importance of enhancing manufacturing capabilities and building a base of national cadres in the fields of technological industries to meet the development needs of the state.

On his part, Tawfik said the ministry is carrying out an ambitious plan to install the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in 63 companies at costs of $50 million.

Finally, El-Terras highlighted the efforts of the Ministry of Communications and its continuous support to promote the localization of technology for digital transformation projects by relying on local manufacturing and the exchange of experiences between public and private institutions.
