Antiquities Min. Inspects Kafr El-Sheikh Museum

Minister of Antiquities Dr. Khaled Al-Anani went to Kafr El-Sheikh to inspect the developments in Kafr El-Sheikh Museum, which is scheduled to be opened in the first half of 2020.

The tour was attended by Ismail Abdel-Hamid Taha, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh and members of the governorate MPs. It was also by Iman Zaidan Assistant Minister of Antiquities for Investment and Financial Resources Development, and Brigadier Hani Mamdouh Assistant Minister of Antiquities for Finance and Financial Resources, Eng.

It was also attended by Waad Abou el-Ela, Head of the Projects Sector, and Mr. Momen Othman Head of Museums Sector, And d. Nevin Nizar, Deputy Minister of Antiquities of the Museum.

“More than 90% of the total project work has been carried out so far. They included the construction of the building, the installation of the electricity network, lighting, fire and insurance systems,” said Abou el-Ela,” Abou el-Ela added. “Finishing work for displaying according to the Supreme Committee of the Ministry of Antiquities Museum's Screening Scenario is being implemented.”

He said: “The museum will highlight the importance, virtue, and impact of ancient Egyptian civilization on various sciences such as medicine, veterinary, pharmacy, engineering, astronomy, agriculture, trade and fishing.”

“The pieces display the history of each of these sciences, as well as those of modern times. The story will also cover the history of the city of Tal al-Fara'een,” Abou el-Ela added.

During the tour, Anani directed the necessity of making some modifications to the main entrance of the museum, the parking area, the information and ticketing area, and the modification of the itinerary and route of the visit. This will help visitors enjoy watching the exhibits and enjoy all the services available in the museum from a library and a school for museum education for children, bazaars, and cafeterias.

Anani stressed the need to develop a map of Egypt showing the archaeological areas of Kafr El-Sheikh governorate in order to highlight and inform visitors and encourage them to visit it.
