Antiquities Min. Hosts Musical Event at Manial Palace

Antiquities Ministry organized a musical dinner banquet at Mohamed Ali palace in Al Manial, for the delegations of the 12th international congress of Egyptologists, hosted in Cairo from November 3 to 8.

This musical event was held in cooperation with seven foreign archaeological institutes operating in Egypt including the German archaeological institute, the French scientific institute of oriental archeology, the Polish archaeological institute, the Austrian archaeological center, the American archaeological center, the Netherlands-Flemish institute, and the Swiss institute.

The remarkable ceremony was attended by around 600 archaeologists from different countries around the world, and a galaxy of foreign and Arab ambassadors, as well as four Egyptian ministers including; Dr. Khaled Al Anani, Antiquities Minister, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning, Dr. Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology (IT).

 

Addressing the event, Al-Anani welcomed the audiences, affirming that the international congress of Egyptologists aims at discovering more about the secrets of the greatest and oldest civilization in the world.

Moreover, he stressed the keenness of the ministry's permanent partners represented in foreign antiquities institutes in Egypt to actively coordinate with the Ministry to host this ceremony.

The attendees were very impressed by the ceremony’s organization and were keen to take a number of memorial photos in this historic site.

Noteworthy, under the patronage of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Al-Anani inaugurated on Sunday the 12th international congress of Egyptologists, hosted in Cairo from November 3 to 8.

During the inaugural session, Antiquities Minister honored a number of prominent archaeologists in recognition of their sincere efforts including; well-know Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass, Director of German Archaeological Institute in Cairo Stephan Seidlmayer, and American archaeologist Mark Lehner.
