Angham's Son Shares Update On His Mom's Health

Omar Aref, the son of Egyptian superstar Angham, gave fans an update on her current health condition following another health crisis. 

In a phone-in with "ON E" TV Channel, he noted that the acclaimed singer is in stable condition, but has not yet fully recovered.

Aref affirmed that there is progress and improvement, and is moving her body in small ways.

He noted that she is still not eating and relies on IV nutritional therapy — a form of IV treatment that supplies the body with the necessary vitamins and minerals to replenish deficiencies or aid in healing.

"Her condition will be evaluated within hours and if there is improvement she will begin taking doses of food and water tomorrow," Aref added.

He noted that his mother had undergone surgery and suffered complications during the filming of her program. 

"She experienced extreme pain while filming and needed to return to the hospital again, but she insisted on completing the filming," Aref revealed.

He pointed out that his mother is patient and can endure pain to a huge level.

Moreover, Dr. Akram El Adawy, gynecologist and treating doctor of Angham, addressed the circulating rumors claiming that the acclaimed singer underwent a hysterectomy to remove the uterus.

Hysterectomy is the main operation for womb cancer is surgery to remove your womb and cervix. 

"The tumors were analyzed and were found to be fibroma and not cancerous as some have claimed it to be," he stressed.

Angham left the intensive care unit four days after being placed under observation and was transferred to a regular room as soon as the doctors were assured that the bowel movement had returned to normal.

On November 24, the acclaimed singer was hospitalized following a sudden health scare, forcing her to postpone gigs.

Angham, born on January 19, 1972, began performing as a child, heralding the birth of a new musical generation. 

She made her music debut in 1987 under the guidance of her father, prominent Egyptian musician Mohamed Aly Suleiman.

Angham performed in public during Cairo’s Radio syndicate ceremony for the first time, as they were looking for new voices to artistically adopt them.

The acclaimed singer has released several albums the first of which was released in 1987. Her hit song called “La Lei Lei La Lei” has brought her much fame.
