Anani Launches 12th Conference for Egyptologists

Minister of Antiquities Khaled Al-Anani inaugurated the 12th Conference for Egyptologists in the presence of Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy, Egyptologist Zahi Hawass, several ambassadors, and international archeologists, as well as university deans.

Al-Anani stressed that the archaeologists, honored today, presented a scientific and practical journey full of achievements.

Several aspects were taken into account in the selection of award winners, including the persity of disciplines and tangible contributions of the Ministry in the field of archaeology.

Archaeologists from different countries, including Germany, Japan and Egypt, were honored during the conference, each reflecting a large segment of the scientific field.

The conference is held every four years in a different country, to discuss and present the latest results of Egyptology.

This is the third conference organized and hosted by Egypt, which previously organized the event twice- in 1988 and 2000. It is one of the most important scientific conferences in the field of Egyptology in the world.

The number of participants reached 567, including 379 speakers and presenters of research papers, and 188 audiences.

The conference discusses several research papers on the history of ancient Egypt, the history of Egyptology, and the introduction of modern methods used in the work of archaeological excavations, site management Archaeological and restoration, archaeology and technology, in addition to art and architecture, language and literature, in addition to challenges facing Egyptian antiquities and ways to overcome them.
