Liverpool head coach Jürgen Klopp has affirmed that goalkeeper Alisson Becker has recovered from his calf injury, returning to the Reds' training for the first time since August.

Alisson , who scooped the Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper award, had suffered a calf injury during the Reds' opening game against Norwich City and was replaced by summer signing Adrian.

"Yesterday he trained with the team [for the first time]. But if you know goalie sessions, they are often pretty more intense than the proper football sessions. He looked really good," Klopp said at his pre-match press conference according to Liverpool's official website.

The German coach said that defender Joel Matip, who was ruled out of Salzburg clash in the Uefa Champions League, looks good, but he would not take part in tomorrow's Premier League clash against Leicester City.

"Joel looks good but is not ready for tomorrow, and Shaq not. And Clyney not," he explained.

Liverpool are set to host Leicester City in the eighth round of the Premier League at Anfield.

Liverpool now attain the Premier League leadership with twenty-one points after achieving the full mark by pulling off seven consecutive victories over Norwich City (4-1), Southampton (2-1), Arsenal (3-1), Burnley (3- 0), Newcastle United (3-1), Chelsea (2-1), and Sheffield United (1-0).

While Leicester City rank third with fourteen points.

In September,Alisson followed the footsteps of his coach Jurgen Klopp by being chosen as the Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year 2019.

Alisson saw off competition from his Premier League rival Ederson, who is the keeper of Manchester City, and Barcelona’s keeper Ter Stegen as they competed to win prestigious accolade which recognizes the best male goalkeeper over the last 12 months.
