Algeria, Iraq Discuss Ways to Boost Co-op in Energy Field

Algerian Energy Minister Mohamed Arkab and Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of energy, investment opportunities, and the exchange of expertise between the two countries.

This came during Arkab's meeting with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs in Baghdad on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Algerian Ministry of Energy, the Iraqi Oil Minister expressed his country's desire to benefit from the Algerian experience in several energy-related fields.

The two sides also discussed the latest preparations for the convening of the 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), set to be held in Algeria.

They also praised the level of dialogue and consultation between the two countries, especially within OPEC and the GECF, with the aim of contributing to the stability of oil and gas markets in a way that serves the common interests of producers and consumers.
