Amara stressed that developing the skills of faculty members and the assisting body is the real investment and the university’s most valuable asset, therefore, there was an eagerness to develop and evolve their research and teaching skills.

“Through this initiative, we also seek to provide specialized training programs as it is one of the requirements for applying for promotion,” Amara added.

Amara stressed that the electronic platform enables participation and interaction between the trainer and the trainees and to make it possible for the training material to be downloaded electronically.

He pointed to the active role of qualified trainers who have transferred and developed training materials and programs that are digitally implemented on the platform.

“Alexandria University was the first Egyptian university to launch this initiative across Egypt,” Amara added.

He also referred to the precautionary measures taken by Faculty and Leadership Development Center to confronting the emerging infectious disease, revealing that the entire center has been sterilized more than once.

“The main goal is to maintain the safety of the faculty members and the assisting staff as they are Alexandria University's most important and most precious asset,” he confirmed.

The head of Faculty of leadership added that the university worked rapidly to create electronic platforms that allow online training as well as allows interaction and participation among the trainees, noting that the council of the university agreed to implement the training programs remotely as a method of implementation, before the Coronavirus crisis.

'The research reference management system program, as well as the virtual labs and classrooms, are implemented through the platform."

The head of Faculty of leadership explained that the university has the necessary technological structure to communicate with all teaching members through enrollment in programs, requesting certificates and testimonials, thus, the faculty member is digitally registering in the training programs.

He affirmed the university’s interest in the quality of the training and not just interested in providing distance training programs.
