Al Ahly's History against ES Sétifienne in CAF Champions League

Al Ahly of Egypt are set to host ES Sétifienne of Algeria on Saturday at Al Salam Stadium in the first leg of the CAF Champions League (CL) with the Red Devils searching for securing a positive result helping them in the second leg.

The ten-time African champions managed to reach the semi-final after being placed second in their group then they managed to defeat Raja of Morocco 3-1 on aggregate after a hard-fought game.

On the other hand, ES Sétifienne managed to reach the semi-final after knocking ES Tunis out in the quarter final to set up a semi-final encounter against Al Ahly.

The second leg are set to take place in Algeria on Saturday, May 14th.

Here is the History of Both Teams Clashes:

Both teams have previously met on five occasions before with all of their clashes always see tough performance from both teams.

The two teams clashed once before in the semi-final with the Algeria team defeating the Egyptian champions  on penalties after holding 2-2 draw in the original time in 1988.

Twenty years later, the two teams renew their clashes for the second time with the Red Devils knocking out the Algerian team after sealing a 3-2 aggregate win.

In 2015, they met once again as ES Sétifienne defeated Al Ahly on penalties 6-5 to claim the CAF Super Cup title.
