Al Ahly Files Complaint to FIFA Due to Referee 'Injustice'

Al Ahly board of directors, headed by Mahmoud El Khatib has filed an official complaint to FIFA following their defeat to Etoile du Sahel in the CAF Champions League on Friday.

The Red Devils' board of directors sent an official complaint to FIFA Ethics Committee against the Botswana's  referee Joshua Bondo, who made several mistakes that affected the outcome of the game.

The Red Devils' defender Ayman Ashraf was sent off in the 13th minute of the game after tackling the Tunisian side's forward from the outside of the box, preventing a potential one-on-one position in the process.

In a statement, Al Ahly demands an urgent investigation into the match ongoings.

Al Ahly are currently attaining the Egyptian Premier League leadership with twelve points their four straight victories.

The Red Devils are set to kick off their adventure in the last 32 of Egypt Cup later today against Beni Suef (19:30 CLT).

On November 30, the eight-time African champions lodged an official complaint to CAF due to the same matter. "The Club has lodged a complained to CAF due to injustice we exposed to in the CAF Champions League during the last few years, " the Red Devils statement read.

The Red Devils were pooled in Group B, alongside Platinum (Zimbabwe), Al-Hilal (Sudan), and Etoile du Sahel (Tunisia). In the other group match, Al-Hilal are set to host Platinum at 21:00 (CLT).
