Etoile du Sahel Defeat El-Ahly in Opening Round of CAF CL (1-0)

Etoile du Sahel handily defeated El-Ahly 1-0 in the opening round of the CAF Champions League group stages, as the Red Giants suffer an early defeat at the beginning of their campaign.

El-Ahly suffered a major set back early on in the match after Ayman Ashraf was sent off after intercepting Etoile player.

The Red giants raided the Tunisian team early on in the match forcing them into defense. Etoile had no other option but to try and counter attack and energetic Ahly.

That was until the Egyptian team suffered a major blow after Ashraf was sent off in the 13th minute, after halting a Tunisian attack inside the box.

Etoile scored the only goal of the match in the 50th minute through a cross which  Shekhawy utilized, placing the ball inside the net of El-Ahly.

El-Ahly almost equalized in the 69th minute after Aly Maalol crossed the ball to Junior Ajaye, who failed to make use of the chance and shot it into the hands of the keeper.

Magdy Afsha later came back in the 89th minute shooting a wide ball from outside the box, which proved no vitality whatsoever as the referee called the final whistle giving the Tunisian team the victory.
