Al Ahly board of directors, headed by Mahmoud El-Khatib submitted a complaint against Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour to the Egyptian Football Association.
The Red Devils said in a statement that they filed a complaint versus Mansour after abuses he made against the club during the Egyptian Super Cup. "Al Ahly will carry on its lawful rights against Mansour," the statement said.
"Mansour committed these violations against the Red Devils' board members during the Egyptian Super Cup derby in the presence of the representative of the Sports Minister, and the members of the EFA's Normalization committee, headed by Amr El-Ganiny," the statement added.
The Red Devils asked the EFA to take legal action against Mansour's "shameful violations."
Noteworthy, Mansour was banned by CAF for one year from all football-related activities. He also received a similar ban from the Egyptian Olympic Committee. He also received a nationwide media ban by the Supreme Council for Media Regulation in Egypt.
The Red Devils clinched their eleventh domestic Egyptian Super Cup trophy over Zamalek on Friday, September 20 after pulling off a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the White Knights after a dramatic encounter.
Al Ahly won their fourth Egyptian Premier League title in a row and their 41st domestic trophy overall with one game to spare after defeating Al Mokawloon (3-1) in July.
