El-Ahly defeated Zamalek with three goals to two in a roller coaster of a match to win the Egyptian Super Cup at Burj El-Arab stadium on Friday.

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) permitted 10,000 fans to attend the Egyptian Super Cup, after Zamalek Chairman Mortada Mansour refused that 40,000 fans attendance due to fear of a riot occurring between the fans.

The Red Devils have the upper hand over the White Knights during their clashes in this tournament as both teams faced each other five times before this match. El Ahly won four confrontations, while Zamalek won only one game during their clashes in the tournament. The victory marks El-Ahly fifth win going to the history books of Egyptian Football.

Both teams started the match with goal scoring ambitions, but it wasn't until the seventh minute Amr Solaya wasted a chance for El-Ahly shooting wide. 6 minutes later Hussein El-Shahat wasted a huge chance for The Red Giants after a drastic defensive error by Zamalek.

El-Ahly scored the opening goal after Junior Ajaye made use of a corner to blast the ball into the goal of Zamalek gaining the upper hand for his club in the 20th minute. The Red Devils came back to enforce their lead in the 45th minute through a great inpidual effort by El-Shahat.

The second half was a bit crazy, as El-Ahly's Ajaye came back to reinforce his club's lead after Ramadan Sobhy penetrated through Zamalek's defenses passing the ball to the Nigerian, who re-positioned himself to place the ball into his opposition's net.

Zamalek then won 2 penalties in less that 10 minutes, the first being in the 64th minute when Mostafa Fathy went one on one with El-Shennawy, forcing the goal keeper to tackle him inside the box. Mahmoud Alaa beautifully scored the spot kick. The second penalty came in the 75th minute, which was also scored by Alaa who placed it in the far left corner like the previous one.

The White Giants tried desperately to equalize the score but with no avail as the referee whistled in the 95th minute to end the match and give El-Ahly their 11th Super Cup victory.
