Egyptian actor Ahmed Mekky had tested positive for the coronavirus for the second time.
He contracted the virus while filming season 6 of the comedy hit TV series "Al-Kabir Awy".
Production of the series was temporarily suspended following the actor and its director Ahmed El-Gendy's infection.
He is in a stable condition and currently self-isolating at his home and undergoing the treatment protocol.
Mekky is slated to resume filming the series after his recovery.
In February 2021, he contracted the virus for the first time.
Many celebrities and public figures have tested positive for the virus recently including Rashwan Tawfek, Ali Badrakhan, Naglaa Badr, Ahmed Hatem, Faia Younan, Maha Al Sagheer, and Tamer Habib.
