Ahmed Hatem to Star in Film "Al Minbar"

Egyptian actor Ahmed Hatem has signed up to star in a new film "Al Minbar".

The cast also includes Ayten Amer, Ahmad Faheem, Sameh El Sereity, Kamal Abu Raya, Magdy Kamel, Omar El Said, Mohamed "Mido" Adel, Ahmed Azmy, and more.

Ahmed Abd El Aal directs from a script by Fedaa El-Shandawili.

Al Minbar depicts the role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif over the course of 1,050 years.

It will also be screen in more than one translated version including Arabic and English.

Principal photography is underway.

Hatem can be seen in the film "Hassan Al Masry".

The cast also includes Diamand Bou Abboud, Lina Ben Hamman, Mourad Makram, Feriel Graja, and others.

It is helmed by Lebanese director Samir Habashi from a script by Samar Taher and story by Nora Labib.

The action film features Hatem portraying Hassan, an Egyptian-born citizen living in Lebanon, who suffers an accident and finds aid from Joel (Diamand Bou Abboud), an old friend and owner of a security company.

Hatem, born on December 25, 1987, made his acting debut in the 2006 film "Awqat Faragh".
