The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) has announced that the Faten Hamama Award for Excellence will be granted to Egyptian actor Ahmed Ezz.
The CIFF’s 45th edition, running from November 13-22, will see Ezz honored for his vast contribution to Egyptian cinema through the award.

Born on July 23, 1971, Ezz made his first appearance in Assala's music video "Lama Gat Einak Fi Einy" in 1999.
In the same year, he appeared in Inas El-Degheidy's film "Kalam El Lail" (Night Whispers).
In 2001, Ezz landed the lead role in "Mothakerat Morahkah" (Memoirs of a Teenager).
His breakthrough role was in the TV series "Malak Rohi" (2003). Ezz's career enjoyed a significant boost when he starred in the 2004 films "Hob El-Banat" (Girl's Love), and "Sana Oula Nasb" (First Year of Deception).
Afterward, he began to play roles in Action, thriller, and suspense films.
