On his part, the US Secretary praised Egypt's success in organizing the climate summit, stressing that the United States attaches great importance to the relations with Egypt and desires to strengthen cooperation with it.
The two ministers discussed benefiting from the US experience in the field of agricultural cooperatives and in raising the efficiency of small farmers and smallholders. They also discussed the necessity of integrating previously launched initiatives, especially the FAST initiative, which focuses on stimulating and mobilizing funding to support food and agricultural systems, hence the importance of interdependence and integration.
The meeting also dealt with the importance of facilitating the procedures for exporting citrus and mangoes to the US market, while continuing to discuss the position of benefiting from American seeds.
At the end of the meeting, the two ministers agreed to form a technical committee to remove any obstacles to enhancing cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of exchanging agricultural commodities and live stock.
