Lebanese singer Yuri Mrakadi is rebooting his career with the release of his latest single "Ana Arabi" (I Am Arab).

“I Am Arab” was written and composed by Mrakadi and was filmed as a music video made two different music versions.

"'Ana Arabi,' translated as 'I am Arab,' is a powerful musical message challenging Western stereotypes of individuals from the Arab world. Through poignant lyrics and stirring melodies, the song calls for an end to the unfair generalizations and accusations often leveled against Arabs, particularly in the context of terrorism," Mrakadi said in a statement.

"It serves as a passionate plea for understanding, empathy, and the recognition of the diverse identities within Arab culture."

Born on 17 December 1969, Mrakadi studied production and became a professional advertising designer in addition to music.

He became famous after his hit single "Arabiyyon ana" (an Arab I am) which jump-started his musical career. His follow-up song "Al-Mar'a al-Arabiyyah" (the Arabic woman) had a similar pan-Arab success. Mrakadi released four studio albums between 2001 and 2005.

He made his acting debut starring opposite Egyptian actress Hanan Tork in the film "Al Hayah Montaha Al Lazzah" in 2005. In 2018, he landed the main role in the soap opera, "Majnoune Fiki".

Mrakadi has been absent from the music scene since he retired from music and traveled to Canada in 2006. He rebooted his career in 2016 with the song "Law Samahti" before retiring once more in 2022.
