The African Union affirmed its full support for the unity, independence and sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
The Somali News Agency (SONNA) reported on Tuesday that this came during an emergency session of the Security Council, which addressed the Israeli occupation's violation of Somalia's sovereignty and independence through its recognition of Somaliland.
The African Union condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli intervention in the Federal Republic of Somalia, describing it as a blatant violation of the country’s sovereignty and unity.
The Union also called for respect for international law and the principles based on state sovereignty, clearly warning that any action that undermines the stability of Somalia and the region cannot be tolerated, reaffirming its firm position in support of Somalia and regional peace, and respect for Somalia’s unity and sovereignty.
