Aboul Gheit Praises Innovation at Launch of Arab Government Excellence Award

Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Thursday opened the fourth edition of the Arab Government Excellence Award, praising the initiative as a regional platform for innovation and improved public-sector performance.

In remarks delivered at the League’s headquarters, Aboul Gheit thanked UAE Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his patronage of the award and commended the organizing team for promoting a culture of excellence across Arab governments.

The secretary-general stressed that the award is “more than a moment of recognition,” calling it a message that change and institutional development are both achievable and necessary. He urged Arab government bodies to embrace innovation, initiative and best global practices to convert challenges into opportunities.

Aboul Gheit congratulated the winners, saying they exemplify the “courage to reshape reality for the better,” and highlighted the UAE’s leadership in pioneering modern governance models that inspire the region.
