Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit met Wednesday with Jibril Al-Rajoub, President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports of the State of Palestine, to discuss mechanisms for advancing Palestinian political gains on the international stage.
According to a spokesperson for the Secretary-General, the discussions focused on entrenching the two-state solution within the global agenda and translating international support for the Palestinian people into tangible results. The meeting also addressed the need to reject Israeli brutality and ensure that international positions lead to concrete political progress.
Aboul Gheit emphasized the importance of moving swiftly toward the "second phase of the Trump plan" while remaining vigilant against attempts to maintain the status quo or avoid withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. He called on the international community to confront schemes aimed at delaying diplomatic progress.
For his part, Al-Rajoub shared his vision for strengthening the standing of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). Both leaders reaffirmed the role of the PLO as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people during this critical period.
