Abla Kamel Addresses Retirement Rumors

Egyptian TV presenter Lamis Elhadidy stated Sunday that she and Veteran actress Abla Kamel addressed in a 45-minute call, the rumors about her retirement and health.

Elhadidy noted that Kamel contacted her last Wednesday and told her things that she can unveil and things that she cannot.

The TV presenter stated that Kamel is healthy and not tired at all.

"I am very happy with the people's love," Elhadidy cited the actress.

The TV presenter asked Kamel to come out and to reassure them herself, however, she declined, stating that she just loves to act and does not know how to be Abla, but knows how to act.

The actress also addressed the rumors about her retirement, denying that she had retired, adding that she is just waiting for a good role.

“No, of course, I love acting very much, and if I received a good role, I would surely do it," she stated.

"I watched the series of last Ramadan and found many very beautiful and varied production, but there was no role that suited me or arisen my desire to act. I am willing to play a good role for the audience, and I am grateful for everyone who wishes to see me on the screen," added Kamel.

Kamel starred in her last role in the 2018 TV series “Selsal Al-Dam 5”, while made her last film appearance in the 2010 film “Al-Kibar”, about 10 years ago.

The actress has made her way into the audiences’ hearts as soon as she starred in the first role. Kamel makes you feel that she is your mother with her affectionate voice and genuine and kind feelings.

She is different from the artists of her generation because she makes an effort to persuade the audience of the role she plays.
