Veteran Egyptian actor Abdullah Mishref announced that he's stepping out of the spotlight after decades in the industry.
Mishref, 82, stressed his decision was permanent, and he would not backtrack from it.
Born on February 15, 1942, the acclaimed actor presented 279 films, TV series, and stage productions during his decades-spanning career.
He obtained a Bachelor’s degree from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1968.
He was appointed to the Vanguard Theater and presented many small roles in theatrical works such as “Shaherazade Nights,” and “Al-Dandarmah.”
The theatre was the real school for the actor, as Abdullah saw it. Therefore, he worked in the theatre of celebrated actor Mohamed Sobhy with whom he co-starred in many plays, including ”Waghat Nazer”, “Takhareef”, “Le’bet El Set”, "Seket El Salama", and "Carmen".
After a period of theatrical productions, Mishref turned to television and landed roles in TV shows like “I'm Not Me” and “Ala Hamish Alsira.”
He rose to fame playing Abdullah in the 1994 hit comedy series “Yomyat Wanees,”. His TV credits include “Zizinia”, “Abu Dahka Janan”, “Street Children”, “Aunt Nour”, and “Fares without a Horse”.
On the film side, he is known for his roles in “Al-Takhshiba”, “Katibat El Aadam”, “El Bayda wal Hagar”, “El Haroub”, "Ehna Betoaa El Autobess", "El Keif", “El Hasat El Saba’a", "Fasel wa Na'ood", "Galatny Mogreman", and "E'yaal Habeebah".
Mishref bowed out after appearing in the comedy film "Ala Mashi."
