Veteran Egyptian actor Abdel Rahman Abou Zahra is back in the intensive care unit (ICU) due to lung complications.

This is the fourth time Abou Zahra to land in the ICU.

In a phone-in with "MBC Masr" Channel on Wednesday, Ahmed, son of the acclaimed actor, stated that every time his father was transferred to the ICU was due to a setback in his health and fainting.

He noted his father's medical problem all began when he fractured his right pelvic joint which was corrected by surgical procedures.

"Any inflammation in his body made him in need of full medical care," Ahmed added.

He heightened that his father's health had gradually improved and the doctors decided to discharge him from the hospital.

Ahmed affirmed that the phone call his father had received from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a wonderful moral effect on him.

He added that due to his suffering from post-operative fatigue and taking antibiotics, he doesn't eat, and swallowing has been difficult for him during the last period.
