French Church Delegation Visits Trail of Holy Family Journey in Egypt

A high-level church delegation from the National Association of Christian pilgrimage in France and a number of French media professionals arrived Sunday in Cairo, to visit the trail of the holy family journey in Egypt and other tourist destinations places, at the invitation of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

The delegation was received by Engineer Ahmed Youssef, President of the Egyptian General Authority for the Promotion of Tourism.

Youssef said in a press remarks, that the visit comes within the program of introductory trips implemented by the Ministry to promote tourism products that enhance the Egyptian tourist destination, including religious tourism.

The visit comes in the framework of activating and promoting religious tourism to the French market.

The delegation is scheduled to meet with Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities and a number of officials and public figures, to discuss the revitalization of the trail of the holy family journey in Egypt, to place it within the association's tourism programs.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities pays great importance to the product of the Holy Family’s trip, which is one of the tourism products that provides Egypt with an advantage of a competitive edge, given that it is the longest pilgrimage route in the world located in one country.

The journey extends in Egypt from Rafah, which is located in the northeast of the country, through the Delta region, and then Cairo.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry has organized a number of introductory trips (FAM Trips) to promote the trail of the holy family journey in Egypt to the leading church representatives in various tourist markets, which includes Spain, Italy, Brazil, and the US.
