The sixth edition of the Cairo Days International Monodrama Festival will kick off Monday evening at Cairo Opera House's Open-Air Theatre.
The festival is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and chaired by the founder of the festival Osama Raouf. The State of Sudan was chosen as the guest of honor for this year's edition.
A Monodrama is a type of play where a single actor takes on the role of the character. This type of performance allows the audience to observe the character's thoughts and actions.
The festival will commence at 8:30 PM and will conclude on October 5.
The opening ceremony witnesses the honoring of five artists for their contributions to the industry, including the late Dr. Mustafa Selim, Ali Al Mahdi, Italian director Valbona Cipri, Mohammad Saeed Al-Dhanhani, and Mohammad Sobhi.
