The Indonesian Geophysics Agency said that a 6.4-magnitude earthquake on the Richter Scale occurred off the Indonesian islands of Tanimbar in Maluku province, and ruled out the possibility of a tsunami, according to the Al-Sharq news website.
The agency said the epicenter was at a depth of 97 km.
And last Sunday, a new earthquake struck the province of "Papua", which is located in the far east of Indonesia and is surrounded by many islands and the western half of the island of "New Guinea".
This earthquake was monitored at a latitude of 1.594 degrees and a longitude of 134.193 degrees, and a depth of 44.1 km.
No reports have so far indicated any injuries as a result of this earthquake.
The Indonesian newspaper "Jakarta Post" indicated that the province of "Papua" had been subjected to an earthquake of 5.1 degrees on the Richter scale, killing at least four people, after a cafe collapsed and fell into the sea as a result of the force of that earthquake, which sparked a state of terror among the population.
