The 56th edition of the Middle East Watches & Jewellery Show has officially launched at Expo Centre Sharjah. Considered the largest and most prestigious regional platform for showcasing the latest innovations in gold, jewelry, and luxury watches, the event will run until Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this year's exhibition features over 500 brands from 21 countries. It offers visitors interactive programs and live workshops to explore the latest designs and craftsmanship, in addition to extensive international pavilions that highlight the show's growing global presence.
During the opening, Al Romaizan Gold & Jewellery stole the spotlight by unveiling an exceptional masterpiece named the "Dubai Dress." Made entirely from 21-karat gold, the dress weighs 10.08 kilograms, earning the company a Guinness World Records achievement for the heaviest gold dress in the world, with an estimated value of 4.6 million UAE Dirhams.
The design consists of four main pieces: a gold crown (398 g), a massive necklace (8.8 kg), two earrings (134 g), and a "Hayyar" piece (738 g).
This accomplishment follows Al Romaizan's history of creating remarkable items, including a gold bicycle valued at 1.5 million UAE Dirhams, which was displayed at previous editions of the show.
The current edition builds on the notable successes of recent years. The 55th edition, held last June, attracted over 87,000 visitors with the participation of 500 exhibitors and 1,800 designers across a 30,000-square-meter area, reflecting the event's significant momentum.
This year, the exhibition highlights the "Emirati Goldsmiths" pavilion, which brings together a selection of local designers to showcase Emirati craftsmanship and its connection to cultural identity. This effort is part of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry's initiative to support national talent and strengthen the emirate's position as a regional hub for the gold and jewelry industry.
Visiting hours are from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, and from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday.
The show reinforces Sharjah's status as a key platform for gold and jewelry trade in the region, blending heritage with innovation and presenting the latest design trends and rare pieces. It also facilitates trade agreements and business networking between exhibitors and visitors from around the world.
