Four people lost their lives in a serious road accident near the German city of Kassel late on Thursday night.
According to police reports released on Friday, the crash occurred shortly after midnight on a regional road leading toward the town of Reinhardshagen.
The vehicle, driven by a 32-year-old man, veered off the road on a left-hand bend for reasons still unknown. It collided with several trees in a wooded area.
Despite an immediate emergency response, the driver, one male passenger, and two female passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. Rescue efforts were unable to save any of the occupants.
Police confirmed that an accident reconstruction specialist has been assigned to determine the exact course of events. The circumstances surrounding why the car left the road remain under investigation.
