Three persons were killed, and four others were injured at a New Year's Eve party in Mississippi, CNN reported on Sunday.
The accident took place as a large crowd gathered outside before one of the clubs celebrating the new year. Shortly, a fight between some guests escalated and turned from a physical altercation to a gunfight, Gulfport Police Department Chief Christ Ryle expressed.
Unfortunately, no suspects were arrested as more than 50 bullets were fired from various types of guns; in addition, most eyewitnesses were hospitalized, according to authorities.
Regarding the motives behind the accident, Ryle said: "When there is a party where alcohol, drugs, and assault rifles are present, it is a recipe for disaster," adding, "Once again, this was proven factual."
The three victims belonged to various parts of Mississippi. They are Corey Bubose from D’Iberville, 23 years old, Sedrick McCord from Gulport, 28 years old, and Aubrey Lewis from St. Louis.
On the other hand, all the injured persons are suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, except one person who is in a critical condition.
In the same context, authorities added that no suspects were arrested, and all authorities will continue their investigations.
