3 American Football Players Dead in Bus Accident in Brazil

Three players from the Cordoba Crocodiles American football team tragically lost their lives in a bus accident south of Cordoba, Brazil, while en route to a championship in Rio de Janeiro.

Six others sustained injuries in the incident.

The club identified the deceased players as Daniel Cruz, Lucas Barros, and Lucas Padilha. Notably, Barros, 20, was the team’s star player and captain of the national under-20 team.

The scheduled game was canceled following the accident, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the bus veering off the road.

American football has been experiencing rapid growth in Brazil, attracting increasing fan interest, although traditional soccer remains the country’s most popular sport.
