Authorities in the United States confirmed that a shooting at a country club in New Hampshire on Saturday night left one person dead and several others injured.
The incident took place at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, a city located about 45 miles (70 kilometers) northwest of Boston near the Massachusetts border.
New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella and Nashua Police Chief Kevin Rourke announced that the victim killed in the attack was an adult male. Officials added that the suspect, who was detained at the scene, is also an adult male. Earlier reports suggesting the involvement of two gunmen were incorrect.
Police confirmed there was no ongoing threat to the public. No immediate details were released regarding the condition of the injured victims.
Aerial footage broadcast by local station WMUR showed a heavy emergency response at the site, with multiple police, fire, and medical teams deployed to the scene.
The investigation into the motive and circumstances of the shooting is ongoing.
