1 Killed, 12 Wounded in Collierville's Mass Shooting (Photos)

One person was killed, and another 12 were injured in a mass shooting in a supermarket, in Memphis, suburb of Collierville, Tennessee on Thursday.

The gunman opened the fire towards sellers, and buyers before killing himself, police said.

A sense of horror was spread in the market due to the fire which led the supermarket visitors to flee the place, while others decided to hide inside the huge freezers.

One of the injured had to undergo surgery, while another was transported to the intensive care, in addition, the whole wounded got immediate help due to suffering from horror and anxiety attacks, Police Chief Dale Lane told reporters.

The police reached the scene in moments. The supermarket located almost 30 miles east of Memphis.

Lane described: "We found people hiding in freezers and in locked offices. They were doing what they had been trained to do - run, hide, fight."

He concluded that this incident is "the most horrific event that has occurred in Collierville history."
