The French Football Federation (FFF) has officially appointed Zinedine Zidane as the new head coach of the France national team, succeeding Didier Deschamps following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The former Real Madrid manager will begin his first international coaching role during the upcoming international break, with France set to face Turkey on 25 September, Belgium on 28 September, Italy on 2 October, and Belgium again on 5 October in the UEFA Nations League.
Zidane takes charge of France after a highly successful club career, during which he guided Real Madrid to three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles.
Since leaving the Spanish giants in 2021, he had turned down multiple coaching offers while waiting for the opportunity to lead his national team.
