Zewail Scholars Scoop OIC Awards

The Comista- Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation-, announced that three out of eight scientists from the University of Science and Technology in the city of Zewail were presented awards by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation(IOC).

Professor Dr.Salah Obayya won the prize for best book in the fields of science from 2017 to 2019 for the book "Photonics of liquid crystals".

Dr. Dr.Ibrahim Elsherbiny, Director of the Nanoscience Program and the Center for Materials Science Research, also won a patent for the development of new, safe technology for the delivery of drugs that are directed and extended through the lungs.

Dr. Dr.Mohamed Alkordi, assistant professor of materials science and chemistry teacher at the University of Science and Technology, received the best scientific research award in cooperation with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology; he won the best research in chemistry for 2018.

OIC is an international Islamic organization that brings together 47 Muslim states. The organization describes itself as the "collective voice of the Muslim world" and aims to "protect the vital interests of the 1.6 billion Muslims."
