American actress-singer Zendaya is set to star in the romantic sports movie "Challengers".
Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist will also star in the movie.
"Challengers" is directed by Luca Guadagnino, penned by playwright-singer-author Justin Kuritzkes, and produced by Amy Pascal.
The movie follows Tashi (played by Zendaya), a married tennis pro who now acts as an instructor. She pushed her husband (Faist) to become a tennis legend and compete in the lowly "challenger" event where one of the opponents is his ex-best friend and Tashi's former partner Patrick (O'Connor).
"Challengers" will begin production this spring on the East Coast.
Zendaya is currently starring on HBO's "Euphoria".
She is also set to reprise her role as Chani in the sequel to "Dune".
