Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Wednesday that following trilateral meetings held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Ukraine expects a prisoner exchange with Russia in the near future, with talks scheduled to resume tomorrow.

In his nightly televised address posted on Telegram, Zelensky stated: "We received a report from our delegation after today's meetings, where trilateral negotiations took place. There was also communication between our team and the U.S. side. We discussed the preliminary results of today's negotiations, which will resume tomorrow."

Highlighting the anticipation of a major breakthrough, the Ukrainian President said: "A significant step is expected... we anticipate a prisoner exchange in the near future. Our prisoners must be brought home."

He further added: "Our Ukrainian position is crystal clear: the war must effectively end, and Russia must be prepared for that." Zelensky also emphasized the necessity of partners ensuring the fulfillment of this process.

A new round of trilateral meetings, involving representatives from Ukraine, the United States, and Russia, commenced today, Wednesday, in the United Arab Emirates.
