Zawya to Start "Michael Haneke Retrospective" on Friday

Celebrated Zawya cinema will start a special Michael Haneke program entitled "Michael Haneke Retrospective" on Friday.

Zawya announced, "The program will showcase a selection of the Austrian director’s most notable titles throughout the month of November, taking us through Haneke’s masterful works known for both their critical acclaim and provocations."

The special film screenings will take place between 13 and 30 November. 8 films will be screened daily including Haneke's most celebrated works such as "Funny Games" and "The Piano Teacher."

The program comes as mutual cooperation between Zawya Cinema and The Austrian Culture Center.

The two time Palme D’Or winning director contributed various cinematic landmarks that we are glad to present, so join us along this captivating journey from the 13th - 30th of November."

Considered one of the greatest filmmakers globally, his films discuss very sensitive issues such as social values, humans' inner intentions, the conflict between man and society, reality reflection.

He won Palme D’Or twice due to his cinematic landmark contributions such as "Code Unknown," "The Piano Teacher," and "Time of the Wolf."
